NetSuite VS Acumatica

What is NetSuite?

What is Acumatica?

NetSuite is a Saas, multi-tenant product founded in 1998. The true cloud product has over 24,000 customers in 203 countries, and translations in over 20  languages.
Acumatica is a newer product, founded in 2008. This product is focused exclusively on manufacturing, and can be deployed via the cloud or on-premise. Acumatica has over 6,400 customers in 30 countries.

NetSuite VS Acumatica -- How Do They Compare?

NetSuite is a true cloud product. Acumatica is not.

NetSuite demonstrates the true definition of the cloud with 24,000+ customers running on the same version, the same enhancements and features and carries their customizations forward into NetSuite’s multitenant cloud. Acumatica claims that the definition of a ‘true cloud’ is the ability to access business information through the internet browser and without additional software licensing or apps. Acumatica is an on-premise software with the capabilities of being hosted in the cloud.

NetSuite provides Industry-specific Leading Practices from Day 1.

With 100+ pre-defined and personalized process flows, NetSuite SuiteSuccess offers industry-specific best practices  that are  personalized on Day 1 to benefit your business. NetSuite is a safe bet. Ranked higher in MQs-market validated & customer proven, SuiteSuccess mitigates risk. Acumatica does not have an equivalent to SuiteSuccess. Their implementation process starts blank with every new implementation, without leading practices or pre-configured instances.

NetSuite scales with your business.

NetSuite is THE trusted partner for growth. Since Acumatica is a newer product, it remains unproven at supporting massive growth. It is a new system originally developed in Moscow, offering a temporary solution that will become more costly as you grow. How? Acumatica has a complex transactional based pricing model that penalizes growth and comes along with many hidden costs. The weakness of Acumatica is that if you are a larger manufacturer, you may find  some of its capabilities a bit limited-it doesn't have quite the breadth of functionality that NetSuite has.

Software Selection Process:

NetSuite VS Acumatica: Here's How You Decide.

  • Perform an analysis to determine the top requirements of your business

Therefore, you can rule out any ERP systems that aren’t flexible enough to provide your Must Haves.

  • Research what ERP systems your direct competitors are using to stay ahead of the curve.

Make sure you ask your potential software vendor for customer references within your industry.

  • Remove the vendor bias and sales spin.

Go in with skeptical eyes, and challenge some of the assumptions that software vendors might be bringing!

  • Make sure to select an ERP software that is easily adaptable and scalable for your growing business.

You want technology that is geared towards the future, not a legacy system of the past.

  • Determine a budget plan.

Find the right software that improves the efficiency of your business, increases visibility, and ultimately saves your business money in the long run.

  • Select the right implementation partner for best practices, ongoing implementation support, training, health checks, and more.

Finding a team of experts is essential to your software selection process, otherwise you could have a dumpster fire on your hands-which will only cost your business more in the long run.

With all of the options available today as far as ERP systems, it's easy to get caught in analysis paralysis. What systems should you (or shouldn't you) choose? Before you decide on an ERP, there are a few things to keep in mind about the current ERP software industry.

The ERP software industry is in a stage of transition and disruption.

Why? Well, the software itself is transitioning. Many vendors are now doubling down on the cloud and moving their solutions from on-premise to the cloud and SaaS models. While this can be great, it also leads to a lot of inconsistency In how mature the products are and how far along these companies are in their digital transformations. That's why at Cloud Genius, we are exclusive providers of NetSuite. NetSuite was built natively in the cloud, before cloud and Saas were cool. Therefore, it is the most mature cloud solution on the market.

There have been a lot of shakeups lately in the leadership of major software companies.

This suggests that there is likely to be changes in direction and strategy.
